This portrait is different from the others, it is not of a person I know personally although I have enjoyed reading her translated poetry. The painting is based on the antiwar poet Ingeborg Bachmann (1926-1973) as a young girl. I painted this especially for the group exhibition ‘Mortgaged Time’ (a title of one of her poems) which was held at Red Gate Gallery 798 in April 2018 .
